Cristo Rey is a new school that calls for significant personal investment from the entire community as working to get students on grade level is challenging work, for the adults and the students. Cristo Rey is located in the Phillips Neighborhood of South Minneapolis where they serve a broad demographic: 57% of the students are female, 43% male. 63% of the student body identifies as Hispanic/Latino, 17% African American, 7% African, 5% Multi –racial and 4% Caucasian. True to the Cristo Rey model, the high school operates with a focus on both academics and training in the workplace.
