Personal Story

Originally from Pittsburgh, I grew up in the fine neighborhood of Forest Hills and belonged to St. Maurice Parish.

I first encountered the Brothers at Central Catholic High School where you could find me playing ultimate frisbee or participating in the school musicals. For higher education I headed to Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. I enjoyed studying everything that had to do with teaching Social Studies and developed a love for learning that wasn’t as pronounced in High School. It was there that I realized how fortunate I was to have loving and supportive people in my life. By senior year, I wanted to pay back what I had received.

The conclusion of that desire was to join the Lasallian Volunteers.
For two years I taught Social Studies to the students at San Miguel in Tulsa, and lived in the Bishop Kelley Community where I learned to appreciate corny jokes, skim milk, and self-deprecation. I found myself doing things I never thought I could do like coaching volleyball and being a role model for kids.

After my time as a volunteer, I became a Lasallian Scholar at La Salle University. I completed one year of studies toward my Masters of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) before applying for the recruitment position with the LVs.

I am honored to serve as the Coordinator of Recruitment for a program that has positively impacted so many people in so many different ways and look forward to introducing the Lasallian Mission to new volunteers.
