“I am mainly motivated by the unique mission and experience offered by the LV program. When I first learned about it, I was impressed that the volunteers were given the opportunity to grow as a professional and to aid individuals in need. It was not until I decided to switch my career path that I began considering applying to the program. I want to dedicate my time to work that is needed in different communities. I am also excited about the possibility of working in a social work related field and developing my interpersonal and technical skills as I prepare for graduate school. In addition, I am excited about the idea of being sent somewhere new for me to experience. Once I learned that I had been taught by LVs before, I found myself even more interested in applying to be an LV and giving back to a program that helped me become who I am today.”
