LV Alum Joins LV Staff as Recruitment Coordinator

Lasallian Volunteers is thrilled to announce that Michael Phipps, LV 09-11, has joined the staff as the new recruitment coordinator effective January 6, 2021.

Phipps, born in Haiti and raised in Yakima, Washington, is a graduate of La Salle High School in Yakima. During his high school career, he was involved with Lasallian Youth, which he says inspired him to serve as an LV after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado. Phipps served as an LV at The San Miguel School of Providence in Providence, Rhode Island, as the director of graduate support. Upon completing two years of service, Phipps obtained his master’s degree at Lewis University in School Counseling and Guidance.

Most recently, Phipps served as the guidance and post-secondary counselor at Liguori Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“I am excited and honored to step into the role of recruitment coordinator,” Phipps shared. “It truly feels like coming home, as I have gained so many close relationships and beautiful friendships from my time with Lasallian Volunteers. I look forward to accompanying prospective volunteers, current volunteers and alums as they embark on and continue their Lasallian journeys.”

As recruitment coordinator, Phipps’ primary responsibility is to organize, manage, support and act as key contact person for all areas of recruitment. The priority deadline to apply to serve as an LV during the 2021-2022 service year is February 15, 2021. Visit our website to learn more.
