Brother Charles Kitson Institute for Formation of Lasallian Volunteers

Given the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus, after discussing several considerations, in consultation with the Lasallian Volunteers Advisory Board, and out of an abundance of care and caution, we have decided that this year’s Brother Charles Kitson Institute for Formation of Lasallian Volunteers will be held as a virtual formation experience.

This virtual Kitson Institute will take place July 19-26, 2020. During our time together, we will focus on Lasallian pedagogy and spirituality, community building, educational content, virtual learning, building relationships with students and clients, along with other topics, while honoring the best parts of the Kitson Institute experience. As Lasallians, we recognize that the relationships built in person are what strengthen the community experience. This virtual experience will not replace the in-person time together, and we are looking for ways to gather the 2020-2021 LVs together in person in the fall, if possible. Our time together will end with a virtual Commissioning ceremony of the 2020-2021 Lasallian Volunteers on Sunday, July 26. We hope you will join us for this ceremony to celebrate the start of another year of faith, service and community.
